Privacy
Family stories deserve a product built around privacy.
EverStroll is a private, multi-perspective digital family storytelling archive. This policy describes how it handles the memories, voices, photographs, family-history material, and distinct personal perspectives you preserve. The archive is private by default and is used to provide the organization, sharing, Storyline, and Aster-assisted features you request.

What EverStroll collects
EverStroll stores account information needed to operate your account, plus the material you choose to place in your archive: people, questions, written memories, photographs, recordings, dates, places, stories, and related metadata.
How archive material is used
Archive material is used to provide the product: storing and displaying memories, connecting material to people, creating Storylines and collections, generating private contribution links, and running optional organizational or writing assistance you request. EverStroll is designed as a multi-perspective family archive, so different people’s recollections of the same event can remain distinct while still being connected.
Aster-assisted features
Aster runs only when you deliberately choose an Aster action. The source text or archive material needed for that request may be sent to contracted AI-processing providers to organize, summarize, suggest questions, or help draft from your sources. Aster output can be wrong and is never published or used to replace your writing without your review and approval. Aster must not fabricate memories, dialogue, facts, emotions, dates, places, or circumstances.
Private by default
EverStroll archives are private by default. A story can be kept as “Only me” (including private-journal use), shared inside a family archive, or deliberately published to the public Storylight. Nothing is published to Storylight automatically.
The public Storylight
When you deliberately publish a finished real story to Storylight, EverStroll creates a public-safe copy containing only the story material you approved for publication, such as its title, optional logline, text, selected images, optional original narration, optional map location, genre, and the identity mode you chose. Signed-out visitors receive only preview-safe story information such as the title, logline, cover image, and basic public metadata; full story text, narration, photo galleries, comments, reactions, and Story Ripples require an account. Source memories and other private archive records are not exposed with that public copy. Fiction is not accepted into the public Storylight.
Public reactions, comments, and Story Ripples
Signed-in EverStroll members can comment on public Storylight stories, leave emotional reactions such as Moved me, Made me laugh, Surprised me, Gave me chills, or Reminded me of someone, and respond with another public story. Public surfaces may display a member’s EverStroll display name, comment text, contribution time, reaction totals, and connected-story relationships. Email addresses and private account identifiers are not displayed publicly.
Anonymous publication
Choosing Anonymous storyteller hides your public display name on the published story and keeps the author anonymous when commenting on that same anonymous story. The public story remains linked internally to the publishing account so EverStroll can support unpublishing, abuse prevention, safety review, and account deletion. A photograph, precise place, story detail, or connected public story can still make a storyteller recognizable, so Anonymous storyteller should be understood as display-name anonymity rather than a guarantee that identity cannot be inferred.
Reports, blocking, and moderation
Signed-in members can report public stories and comments and block contributors. Blocking stores the blocked account identifier so EverStroll can hide that member’s public stories and comments from the person who blocked them. Reports are stored with the reporting account identifier for administrative review and are not displayed publicly. EverStroll may retain moderation records as reasonably necessary to review safety or abuse issues.
Organization Stories & Sponsored Stories
A public story can be identified as an organization story or shown through paid distribution. EverStroll displays the organization name and any required sponsorship disclosure so organizational or paid context is not intentionally hidden.
Location and Story Map
You may optionally attach precise coordinates to a memory or story by using your current device location, searching for a place, or placing a pin on a map. Private map data remains part of the archive. A story location becomes public only when that story is deliberately published to Storylight with the location attached.
Contributors
A person who receives a private question link can contribute an answer without purchasing a subscription. Their answer is added to the private archive that requested it. Contributors should be shown what archive is requesting the material and how that contribution will be used.
Service providers
EverStroll may rely on infrastructure providers for authentication, hosting, file storage, email delivery, payment processing, and Aster or media-processing functions. Stripe processes subscription payments and payment credentials; EverStroll stores only the billing identifiers and subscription state needed to provide paid access. These providers should receive only the information necessary to perform those services under their own contractual and security obligations.
Security
EverStroll uses account authentication and archive-level access controls to separate private archives. No online service can promise absolute security, so the product should continue to use appropriate technical and operational safeguards as it moves toward commercial release.
Retention and deletion
Archive owners can remove individual archive material, download a structured export of their archive data, and permanently delete their EverStroll account from My Profile. Account deletion cancels an active EverStroll paid subscription before owned archive records are removed. Structured exports include archive records and media references; keep independent copies of irreplaceable original media.
Children and family material
Family archives may contain memories or photographs involving children. Adults creating archives are responsible for having appropriate permission to upload and share that material. EverStroll is not intended to let children independently create public profiles.
Your choices
You control what you add, who you ask, and what you deliberately share. Product settings provide direct controls for archive access, subscription management, structured export, and account deletion without requiring a support conversation for ordinary account actions.
Changes to this policy
This privacy page may be updated as EverStroll adds billing, exports, additional media processing, or new sharing controls. Material changes should be dated and communicated clearly before they take effect.
